Earlier this year, India played a Test series at home against England, winning 4-1, with Rohit amassing 400 runs over the five Tests.

“We want to win here. We want to win this Test match” - Rohit Sharma focused as India prepare for an important 2024/25 home season
Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma has emphasized that the team is not viewing the two-match series against Bangladesh as a mere warm-up for the more significant series ahead.
In a press conference before the first Test in Chennai, Rohit highlighted that the World Test Championship points table is still wide open and every match is crucial. Rohit Sharma said:
"Look, at the end of the day, you are playing for your country. So there is no dress rehearsal kind of stuff happening here. Every game that we play is important, and every game becomes important because of what is at stake."
"[In the] World Test Championship, still the table is quite wide open, and you want to win every game. So it doesn't matter where we play in two months' time. We want to win here. We want to win this Test match," he added.
After the Bangladesh series, India will host New Zealand for a three-match Test series starting October 16. Following that, they will head to Australia for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with the first Test scheduled to begin in Perth on November 22.
