[Watch] Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli hit the nets ahead of 3rd 2024-25 BGT Test
Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma and former skipper Virat Kohli were seen sharpening their skills in the nets ahead of the third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, December 14, in Brisbane.
The experienced duo struggled to step up in the second (pink-ball) Test in Adelaide. Rohit, batting in the middle order for the first time in six years, scored just 3 and 6 in his two innings.
Meanwhile, Kohli, who had scored a century in the first game, couldn't carry on his form, managing only 18 runs across the two innings. Australia were dominant throughout and secured a commanding 10-wicket victory.
As the team prepares for the third Test, the duo spent some quality time in the nets, aiming to turn things around in the upcoming crucial match.

The visitors will depend on the veteran duo to perform as they aim to secure a 3-1 series win, with hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have failed to perform in Tests in 2024
Rohit Sharma had a solid Test series at home earlier this year against England, scoring 400 runs in nine innings, including two centuries. However, in the 12 innings since, he has only managed 142 runs, with just one half-century, which has seen his average drop from 45.46 to 41.54. Overall, he has featured in 12 Tests this year, accumulating only 597 runs at an average of 27.13.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli has managed only 373 runs in eight matches, with a modest average of 26.64. Over the past five years, he has struggled in Test cricket, registering just three centuries in 36 matches. Before 2021, his Test average was 53.42, but it has since dropped to 47.72.
