Rohit Sharma set to appear on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show
Rohit Sharma will feature in the second season of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show hosted by Indian comedian Kapil Sharma. Notably, the Indian opener will be seen on the show for the second time, having appeared alongside Shreyas Iyer in the first season.
This time around, he will be joined by fellow T20 World Cup winners Suryakumar Yadav, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube. A promo of the episode shows the cricketers playing an imitating game and Rohit Sharma being challenged to guess MS Dhoni.
Axar Patel, who took up the challenge, failed to enact Dhoni’s iconic helicopter shot. Seeing his action, Rohit said:
“Yeh to sabhi chakka maarte hain aise, thoda alag karke bata (everyone hit a sixer like that, show something different, do it differently).”
Suryakumar Yadav stepped in and asked:
“Mai dikhau kya? Dikhata hoon. Pakad lenge turrant (Shall I do it? I will do it. He will get it at once)”
He aced Dhoni’s helicopter-shot action to near perfection and Rohit guessed it within seconds. Suryakumar Yadav will lead India's T20I side against Bangladesh in the forthcoming three-match series starting Sunday, October 6.
