Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Darshan Nalkande struck early with the ball in the team's Qualifier 1 clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, May 23.

Playing his first match of the season, the right-arm pacer dismissed CSK opener Gaikwad on the third ball of the second over. The batter was undone by a cutter from Nalkande and was caught at silly mid-on.

However, Gaikwad got a massive reprieve as it was later deemed a no-ball as the bowler had overstepped. The 26-year-old survived and to make matters worse for Gujarat, he followed it up with an authoritative six over the long-on region on the free hit.

Notably, GT head coach Ashish Nehra was captured having a word with Nalkande after the youngster completed his over.
