[Watch] Sai Sudharsan smashes hundred in IND-A vs AUS-A 1st unofficial Test 2024 

India A batter Sai Sudharsan made a significant impact by scoring a century for his team in their second innings on Day 3 of the ongoing first unofficial Test against Australia A on Saturday, November 2. The match is underway at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.

The milestone arrived on the first delivery of the 68th over. Todd Murphy bowled a full delivery on the off stump, which Sudharsan deftly guided toward the point region, taking a quick single to reach his century off 192 balls.

However, the left-handed batter was soon out for 103 runs off 200 balls, hitting nine boundaries during his innings. Sudharsan's dismissal left India A at 226 for three after 71.1 overs.


Sai Sudharsan's century helps India A set a target of 225 runs for Australia A

After being asked to bat first, India A got a disappointing start, collapsing for just 107 runs. Australia A responded with 195, taking a crucial lead of 88 runs.

The visitors struggled early in their second innings, losing captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for five runs, while his opening partner Abhimanyu Easwaran was run out for 12 off 32 balls.

Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal then stabilized India A’s innings, forging a significant partnership of 196 runs for the third wicket. Sudharsan scored 103, while Padikkal fell just short of a century, getting out for 88 off 199 balls.

Ishan Kishan added 32 off 58 balls but the middle order faltered, leading India A to slide from 226 for three to 287 for seven. Ultimately, India A were all out for 312, setting a target of 225 runs for Australia A.

In response, Australia A were 63 for one after 22 overs at the time of writing. They still need 162 runs to win, with Cameron Bancroft (16) and Marcus Harris (29) at the crease.
