Indian batter Sai Sudharsan registered his maiden County Championship hundred while representing Surrey against Nottinghamshire in a Division One match of the 2024 season at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Friday, August 30. The left-handed batter got to the landmark in style by smashing a six.

Batting first after winning the toss, Surrey posted 525 in their first innings in 150.4 overs. While skipper and opener Rory Burns top-scored with 161 off 266 balls, Sudharsan also brought up three-figures on Day 2 of the contest against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

The left-handed batter went from 98 to 104 by lofting young off-spinner Farhan Ahmed over the leg side boundary for a maximum. He was dismissed in the same over and was the last man out as Surrey's innings ended on 525.

Sudharsan's knock, which came off 178 balls, featured 10 fours and a six. Surrey's first innings also saw good contributions from Ryan Patel (77), Will Jacks (59), Jordan Clark (53) and Conor McKerr (32). For Nottinghamshire, Ahmed finished with figures of 7-140 from 50.4 overs.

Responding to Surrey's huge first-innings total of 525, Nottinghamshire made a bright start, reaching 89-1 in 19 overs. They lost Ben Slater for 1 as he was bowled by Clark. However, Haseeb Hameed (42*) and Freddie McCann (45*) gave the Nottinghamshire innings a boost.
