[Watch] Sajid Khan bowls Matthew Potts between his legs on Day 3 of ENG vs PAK 2nd Test
Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan continued to run through England's batting unit on Day 3 of the second Test at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The off-spinner's dismissal of Matthew Potts was eye-catching as the right-hander was bowled between his legs.
The dismissal occurred in the 60th over of the innings as Sajid produced generous turn by bowling wide outside off. Potts walked across and onto the backfoot as the ball spun sharply to go between his legs, hitting the middle stump. It was also his sixth wicket of the innings, having claimed a fifer by getting rid of Brydon Carse.
The finger spinner had dented England on Day 2 after Pakistan were dismissed for an imposing total of 366. The 31-year-old had dismissed Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Ben Duckett to reduce the tourists from 211-2 to 239-6 by stumps.
Sajid Khan's 7-wicket haul gives Pakistan 75-run lead
Shoaib Bashir became Sajid's seventh wicket of the innings, finishing with 7/111, the best bowling figures at the venue. Having been bowled out for 291, England have conceded a 75-run lead with only Ben Duckett making a substantial score. No England batter aside from Duckett and Root made above 30 runs.
Nevertheless, Ben Stokes and his men hold a 1-0 lead as Ollie Pope-led England consigned Pakistan to an innings and 47-run defeat in the opening Test in Multan. In the process, Pakistan created an unwanted record of becoming the first team to lose a Test by an innings after scoring over 500 runs in their opening dig.
With a good bowling performance in Multan, they have given themselves a shot at leveling the series. Shan Masood, who has lost his first six Tests as captain, will be keen to break his duck.
