[Watch] Sanju Samson checks on spectator hurt by ball from star batter’s six after IND vs SA 4th T20I 2024 

Indian cricketer Sanju Samson met with a spectator after the fourth and final T20I against South Africa on Friday, November 15, who had been struck by a ball when he hit a towering six. On the second delivery of the 10th over of India’s innings, Samson launched a shot over deep mid-wicket off Tristan Stubbs.

The ball deflected off a railing and hit the woman in the face. She was given an ice pack to help soothe the pain. After the match, the Indian cricketer interacted with her, checked on her condition, and took a photo together.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson scored his second century of the series, making him the only player to hit three T20I centuries in a calendar year. He had scored 107 in the opening match but followed it up with two ducks.

However, he made a strong comeback in the fourth game, posting 109*. The 30-year-old has now accumulated 810 runs in 37 T20Is, including two fifties and three centuries.

India won the toss and chose to bat first in the final match. Openers Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma put on 73 runs off 35 balls for the first wicket. Abhishek scored 36 off 18 balls, including two boundaries and four sixes.

Sanju and Tilak Varma then launched a devastating assault, adding an unbeaten 210-run partnership off 86 balls for the second wicket, the highest ever for India in a T20I.

Sanju remained unbeaten on 109 from 56 balls, with six fours and nine sixes, while Tilak finished on 120* off 47 balls, hitting nine boundaries and 10 sixes. As a result, India posted an impressive total of 283/1 in their 20 overs.

In reply, South Africa never looked in contention, being bowled out for just 148 and losing by 135 runs. Arshdeep Singh was the standout performer with the ball, taking three wickets. With the win, India secured the series 3-1.
