Welsh Fire wicketkeeper Sarah Bryce showed great presence of mind in dismissing Nat Sciver-Brunt as the Trent Rockets captain had to depart during the Hundred Women's match between the two sides. The game is taking place in Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Saturday, August 3.

The dismissal took place on the 60th delivery of the Trent Rockets' innings. Nat Sciver-Brunt tried to play a reverse sweep off a delivery from left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen and got herself into a tangle in the process.

Sarah Bryce collected the ball and waited for a moment knowing that Nat Sciver-Brunt would lose her balance. The moment she lost her balance, the wicketkeeper dislodged the bails and affected a brilliant dismissal.

It was a timely wicket for the Welsh Fire as Sciver-Brunt was looking to cut loose. She scored 37 runs off 26 balls in an innings that saw her hit three boundaries.

Nat Sciver-Brunt top scores as Trent Rockets post 130/5

The wicket of Sciver-Brunt proved to be massive in the context of the game as the Trent Rockets have managed to post just 130/5 in their 20 sets. They got off to a horrible start as both the openers Bryony Smith and Grace Scrivens had to depart for a golden duck each.

Wicketkeeper Natasha Wraith (28 off 34) then got together with skipper Sciver-Brunt as the duo consolidated Rockets' innings and added 52 runs for the third wicket. At 72/4, the Rockets once again had two relatively new batters at the crease.

However, Ash Gardner (31 off 26) and Heather Graham (27* off 18) played crucial cameos that helped the Trent Rockets post a target where their bowlers have something to bowl at. The Rockets have already lost two out of their first three games and are seventh on the points table, desperately needing a win.
