[Watch] Sarfaraz Khan's catch leaves Virat Kohli & Rishabh Pant in splits ahead of Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Team India players Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan shared a light moment during the side's training session ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. They were practicing slip-catching when Sarfaraz's hilarious catching style left his teammates in splits.
Kohli, Pant, and Jurel burst out laughing after seeing Sarfaraz's catch. Pant was even seen rolling on the floor laughing, literally. You can watch the clip of the incident below:
It is worth mentioning that the Indian team took part in their first practice session at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Tuesday, November 19. The visitors previously trained and participated in an intra-squad match simulation at the Western Australian Cricket Association Ground (WACA).
India and Australia are set to compete against each other in a five-match Test series for the first time since 1991-92. The opening encounter of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy kicks off in Perth on Friday, November 22.
"He'll be very, very hungry" - Sunil Gavaskar backs Virat Kohli to do well in Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar believes that Virat Kohli has a great chance of performing well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He suggested that the ace batter will be itching to get back to scoring runs after an underwhelming home series against New Zealand.
Gavaskar also pointed out that Kohli has an impressive Test record on Australian soil. Speaking to Star Sports, the cricketer-turned-commentator said (via NDTV):
"Because he (Virat Kohli) hasn't got runs against New Zealand, he'll be very, very hungry. Even in that Adelaide Test match, where in the second innings we got all out for 36, in the first innings, Kohli got 70 plus, if I recall correctly, before being run out. He's consistently performed at Adelaide, so it's a familiar ground for him."
"And before Adelaide, it's Perth, where he played one of the finest Test centuries in 2018-19. A terrific hundred. Having performed on these grounds, he'll feel that extra bit of confidence. Of course, you need a bit of luck at the start, but if he gets off to a good start, he will get big runs."
Virat Kohli has amassed 1352 runs across 25 Test innings in Australia. He has six Test centuries to his name in these conditions and a brilliant average of 54.08.
