[Watch] Security removes Indian fan for showing sandpaper during BGT 2024-25 2nd Test

The second Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test in Adelaide between Australia and India turned out to be a fiery affair, with the row between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head taking center stage.

While on-field battles often make for an interesting game, an unfortunate incident took place in the crowd during the Adelaide Test. In a video that has surfaced online, an Indian fan can be been blatantly displaying a piece of sandpaper. As a result of his act, the fan was forcefully removed and ushered out of the ground by security.

While he was being removed, the fan continued to display the piece of sandpaper to the Australian crowd. Some of the home fans can be seen clapping and waving at the fan as he leaves the ground.

As far as the second BGT 2024-25 Test was concerned, the visitors suffered a 10-wicket loss in Adelaide after their brilliant win at Perth first up. The third Test will be played in Brisbane with the series tantalizingly poised at 1-1.

What is the reference to the sandpaper that was shown by the Indian fan at the Adelaide Oval?

The sandpaper being displayed by the Indian fan at the Adelaide Oval reflects a shameful and rather unforgettable moment in Australian cricket history.

Big names such as Steve Smith and David Warner were involved in the infamous incident that occurred in 2018. During the third Test against South Africa at Cape Town, Cameron Bancroft was caught using sandpaper to rough up one side of the ball, which accounts for ball tampering.

It was later found that Smith and Warner were involved as well. Following the sandpaper scandal, all three cricketers were handed significant bans by Cricket Australia.
