India A spinner Shams Mulani got the better of India D batter Devdutt Padikkal with a superb delivery on Day 4 of the ongoing 2024 Duleep Trophy match on Sunday, September 15. The game is being played at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur.
The dismissal happened on the last ball of the 32nd over. Mulani bowled a looping delivery on off-stump, tempting the left-handed batter to drive. Padikkal was beaten on the inside edge and the ball crashed into the leg stump, sending the bails flying. Unlike his first innings heroics, where he scored 92, the left-handed batter was dismissed for just one after facing five balls.

At the time of writing, India D are 147/3 after 44 overs, with Shreyas Iyer (32) and Ricky Bhui (69) at the crease. India D still need 341 runs to win, with seven wickets remaining.
Centuries from Pratham Singh and Tilak Varma help India A set 488-run target in Duleep Trophy clash
The India A bowlers delivered a stellar performance, securing a 107-run lead in the first innings of the third Duleep Trophy 2024 match. Their batting continued to shine in the second innings, with captain Mayank Agarwal and Pratham Singh forging a 115-run opening partnership off 169 balls. Agarwal was dismissed for 56 by India D captain Shreyas Iyer.
Pratham continued to excel, forming another century partnership with Tilak Varma. The left-handed opener scored 122 off 189 balls, including 12 boundaries and one six, before being dismissed by Saurabh Kumar. Riyan Parag, coming in at No. 4, added 20 off 31 balls with two fours.
Tilak and Shashwat Rawat then put together an unbeaten 116-run partnership off 174 balls for the fourth wicket. India A declared their second innings at 380/3 after 98 overs, setting a target of 488 for India D. Varma remained not out on 111 from 193 balls, with nine boundaries. At the same time, Rawat scored 64* off 88 balls, including seven fours.
