[Watch] Shams Mulani cleans up Shreyas Iyer through his legs for 41 in IND A vs IND D 2024 Duleep Trophy match

India A spinner Shams Mulani dismissed India D captain Shreyas Iyer on Day 4 of their ongoing 2024 Duleep Trophy match on Sunday, September 15. The game is being played at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. The dismissal occurred on the last ball of the 47th over.

Mulani bowled a short, round-the-wicket delivery, and Iyer attempted to play it through square leg. However, the ball stayed low, passing the inside edge and sneaking through his legs to hit the stumps. Iyer scored 41 off 55 balls, including eight boundaries. His dismissal left India D at 158/4 after 47 overs.

Chasing 488, India D were struggling at 272/7 after 77 overs, with Harshit Rana (5) and Saurabh Kumar (19) at the crease. They still required 216 runs to win, with three wickets in hand and 32 overs remaining in the day.

Ricky Bhui was the standout performer, scoring 113 off 195 balls, with 14 boundaries and three sixes. Meanwhile, Yash Dubey (37) and Sanju Samson (40) couldn’t convert their starts into big innings.


Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for a duck in the first innings

Shams Mulani’s 89 and Tanush Kotian’s 53 propelled India A to a solid first-innings total of 290. In reply, India D struggled early, losing opener Atharva Taide for just four runs in the first over and Shreyas Iyer for a duck on his seventh ball, dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed.

Devdutt Padikkal was the standout performer for India D, scoring 92 off 124 balls, including 15 boundaries. Despite his efforts, India D were all out for 183, with Khaleel and Aaqib Khan taking three wickets each for India A.

In their second innings, India A extended their lead with centuries from Pratham Singh (122) and Tilak Varma (111*). They declared at 380/3, setting a daunting target of 488 runs.

Meanwhile, in the 2024 Duleep Trophy, Shreyas Iyer has had a challenging run, with 104 runs from four innings, featuring one half-century and one duck.
