[Watch] Shreyas Iyer interacts with fans outside a salon in Mumbai
Team India batter Shreyas Iyer recently interacted with a few fans outside a salon in Mumbai.
He was last seen on the field for India during the 3-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. It was Iyer's first appearance in ODIs this year. The flamboyant middle-order batter put on a phenomenal performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup and cemented his place in the playing XI.
However, Shreyas Iyer could not replicate similar consistency levels in the recent matches against Sri Lanka in spin-friendly conditions. Iyer could only score 38 runs across three games, as India lost the series by 2-0.
He is currently in Mumbai on a mini-break as he gears up for the upcoming domestic season. Shreyas was spotted outside a salon in the city, where he gave a few autographs to the fans. An Instagram page (Instant Bollywood) gave a glimpse of it by sharing a video.

Shreyas Iyer will play in the Buchi Babu tournament and Duleep Trophy this season
Shreyas Iyer did not receive a central contract from BCCI early this year after he did not participate in domestic tournaments while he was away from international cricket commitments.
However, things have changed now, as Iyer has made himself available for the Mumbai side in the upcoming Buchi Babu tournament. Speaking on the matter, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) chief elector Sanjay Patel told mid-day:
“Shreyas Iyer showed keen interest in playing for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament. He is eager to play red-ball cricket. Though Shreyas and Surya will be playing only one match, it will be a strong message to other state teams that Test players are also keen to play for Mumbai.”
Shreyas will also play in the Duleep Trophy this season, as he was recently named captain of Team D. Other Indian players like Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, KS Bharat, and Devdutt Padikkal are also part of the same side.
