[Watch] Shreyas Iyer poses for pictures at Mumbai airport after KKR’s IPL 2024 win 

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Shreyas Iyer reached his hometown Mumbai after guiding his side to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 trophy. KKR now have three IPL trophies and are only behind Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who have five titles each.

The Knight Riders beat the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a one-sided final by eight wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, May 26. After bowling out Hyderabad for a paltry score of 113, Kolkata chased down the target in just 10.3 overs with eight wickets in hand. Venkatesh Iyer scored an unbeaten half-century, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz chipped in with 39 runs.

The celebrations went on all night at the hotel as Kolkata lifted their first title after a decade. Co-owners Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, along with players and support staff, were seen dancing till late night. A day later, the players have now started returning to their homes.

Shreyas Iyer was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport on his way back from Chennai. He was all smiles as he posed for photographs at the airport. The KKR skipper also thanked the paparazzi who congratulated him for winning the title.

"We played like invincibles throughout the season" - KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer

Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer looked content while speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony after his side lifted the IPL trophy. He asserted that the Knight Riders played like 'invincibles' throughout the competition and lauded the players for their performance.

"Absolutely comprehensive. This is what we demanded from the team and every individual. They stood up to the right occasion and the feeling is hard to express. We played like invincibles throughout the season. There's so much to cherish right now. It is pleasing, the performance has been flawless throughout. I am running out of words right now," he said at the presentation ceremony.

Shreyas led the team from the front, aggregating 351 runs in 14 games, including a match-winning half-century in Qualifier 1 against Hyderabad.
