Shubman Gill celebrated his first series win as captain with his family on Sunday (July 14) at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. Under his leadership, India beat Zimbabwe comfortably by 42 runs in the fifth T20I and won the five-match series 4-1.

Zimbabwe began the series well by winning the first match by 13 runs last week. India then made a resounding comeback with a 100-run win in the second T20I. They continued in the same vein of form and won the next three games to seal the series.

Shubman Gill ended the series as the leading run-getter. He scored 170 runs across five matches at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 125.93, including two half-centuries.

It was a special moment for him as it was his first series win as India captain. His family members were also present at the ground to celebrate the occasion. He hugged his father (Lakhwinder Singh), mother (Keart Gill), and sister (Shahneel Gill) before posing with them along with the trophy.

"It was an excellent series! The way we came back after the first match was special! When we first came in, not everyone got a decent hit in the nets, but we adapted well."

On the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, Gill added:
