[Watch] Shubman Gill dismissed cheaply in the 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and India
Team India opener Shubman Gill was dismissed cheaply in the ongoing 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and India. The opener managed to score a meager 6 runs off 14 deliveries.
Earlier today (August 7), Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. The Islanders managed to put up a sizeable score, courtesy of half-centuries off the willow of Avishka Fernando (96) and Kusal Mendis (59) and a late flourish towards the end overs by Kamindu Mendis (23). Gill was an instrumental figure in the field as he managed to hold onto a good catch, dismissing Kusal Mendis and ending his stay in the middle.
The 24-year-old walked out to bat alongside Rohit Sharma, who launched an all-out attack against the Lankan bowlers. He batted with some tempo, guiding India to a score of 35/0 after 4 overs. Asitha Fernando came in to bowl the 5th over and managed to peg back Gill's stump, dismissing him and ending his Sri Lankan tour with the bat in hand.

India in trouble yet again after Rohit Sharma was dismissed in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka
Team India captain Rohit Sharma continued to go after the Sri Lankan bowlers, despite losing his partner at the other end. The 37-year-old played some eye-catching strokes before he was dismissed by Dunith Wellalage for a well-made 35.
Virat Kohli walked out to that after the fall of the first wicket and was given a reprieve when he was yet to score a run. However, the 35-year-old was later dismissed by Dunith Wellalage for 20 (18). Rishabh Pant joined the former Team India captain and looked set for a big score after starting his innings with a boundary, but was soon dismissed by Maheesh Theekshana for 6 runs.
Currently, Shivam Dube (9)* is joined by Washington Sundar (0)* as India look to chase down 249 and achieve parity in the series. At the time of writing, India are in trouble at 101/7 at the end of 17 overs.
