[Watch] Shubman Gill trapped lbw as Mehidy Hasan Miraz picks up his second wicket on Day 5 of IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Team India's No. 3 batter Shubman Gill perished for a single-figure score on Day 5 of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The right-handed batter was pinned on the crease by Mehidy Hasan Miraz and had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring six runs.

The dismissal occurred in the fifth over of the innings as the off-spinner came on to bowl his third of the innings. Mehidy Hasan bowled it on a length, but it generated sharp turn and Gill went to the backfoot to nurdle it away to the off side. With the ball hitting flush on the pad, the umpire raised his finger and the youngster went for the review. But the DRS returned three reds, prompting the 25-year-old to walk back.

Although Team India had lost Gill and Rohit for single-figure scores within five overs, the path to their seven-wicket victory was still a comfortable one. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a swashbuckling 72 off 51 in the first innings, raced to another half-century but perished when India required only two runs.

At the other end, Virat Kohli stayed unbeaten on 29, while Rishabh Pant hit the winning runs to seal the series 2-0. Rohit Sharma and his men have also further solidified their top spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings.
