[Watch] “Sign karu kya” - Virat Kohli has an interesting interaction with a fan in Sri Lanka

Virat Kohli had an interesting interaction with a fan after the culmination of his practice session ahead of the first ODI against Sri Lanka on August 2 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The Indian batter has returned to international cricket after a month's rest.

Kohli last played for India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final, where India beat South Africa to lift the title. Kohli then announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game and thus, did not represent India in the recently concluded T20I series against the Islanders.

After the practice session, Kohli interacted with the fans, who were waiting in anticipation to catch a glimpse of their favourite batter. The former Indian captain did not disappoint and signed a few autographs. While signing, Kohli had an interesting interaction with one of the fans. He said:

"Sign Karu kya? (Should I sign it?)"

Seemingly in a jovial mood, he added:

"Aapne toh bola mere liye hai. (You said this was for me)"

You can find the video of the interaction below:

Virat Kohli will be looking to get back to his best in the longer formats of the game

After hanging up his boots in the shortest format, Virat Kohli will now shift his focus to ODIs and Test Cricket. India will play only six ODIs before the 2025 Champions Trophy kicks off in February.

The fixture against Sri Lanka will be Virat Kohli's first ODI this year and he will be looking to replicate what he did the year before. In 2023, Virat was the second highest run-getter behind Shubman Gill for India in ODIs, raking up 1377 runs across 27 matches. He enjoyed a great Men's ODI World Cup, scoring 765 runs and also winning the Player of the Tournament.

The 36-year-old has fond memories of playing against Sri Lanka. He has an impressive record against the Islanders, scoring 2594 runs in 51 ODI innings, including 10 centuries.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India will take on Sri Lanka in the first ODI on August 2 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
