[Watch] "Siraj bhai khana kha rahe hai"- Suryakumar Yadav's hilarious response to reporter's mistake after IND vs AFG T20 World Cup match

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has often shown his witty side on social media and in interviews. The post-match press conference after India's T20 World Cup Super 8 game against Afghanistan provided another instance of the No.1 ranked T20I batter showing his sense of humor.

Before asking his question, a reporter addressed Suryakumar as 'Siraj', referring to Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj, and fumbled a bit, quickly realizing his mistake. Suryakumar saw the lighter side of it and said:

"Siraj to nahi hai yaar. Siraj bhai khana kha rahe hai (laughs) (Siraj isn't here, mate. Siraj is having his food)"

Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match award for his sensational knock of 53 off just 28 balls and helped the Men in Blue beat Afghanistan comfortably by 47 runs.

"The most important thing was the intent needed to be good" - Suryakumar Yadav on taking charge in the middle overs

India were in a spot of bother when they lost Virat Kohli for 24 and had two new batters, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube at the crease. However, SKY took charge of the situation and began his counter-attack by taking on Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan. That gave both him and India the momentum they desperately needed to eventually finish on 181/8 in their 20 overs.

Here's what Suryakumar had to say to the host broadcaster after his knock:

"I started chewing my gum even harder when he (Kohli) got out (laughs). But I knew I have played this phase before and how to bat in this phase and the left-hander coming in it became a little easier. The most important thing was the intent needed to be good at that time and that's where I backed myself."
