[Watch] Six to the Chinnaswamy roof and out, Kuldeep Yadav ends Musheer Khan's stellar knock
Mumbai and India 'B' batter Musheer Khan's statement knock of 181 (373) in the opening match of the Duleep Trophy 2024 against India 'A' ended in a dramatic fashion with a six to the roof of Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium followed by a catch in the deep one ball later.
The right-hander reached his century on Day 1 of the game on Thursday and started Friday by surviving an early run-out chance. But he didn't give any other chances after that and stood true to his words about going big after reaching milestones, taking on all India 'B' bowlers with a flurry of boundaries.
In the 111th over, he smashed Kuldeep's loopy second ball for a massive six over deep mid-wicket that clanked the roof. The spinner bowled the googly with a similar trajectory and on the same spot on the fourth ball. However, Musheer's second attempted slog came off the bottom of his bat for an easy catch for Riyan Parag at deep mid-wicket.

This would still go down as one of the best knocks in Duleep Trophy history. Musheer, only 19 years of age, rescued his team from 91/7 at one point to 299/8 when he got out, with help from Navdeep Saini's solid tailender play on the other end.
"Rishabh bhai and Shubman bhai gave me insights" - Musheer Khan on playing Kuldeep Yadav
After the day's play on Thursday, Musheer revealed that Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant gave him crucial insights about picking the right deliveries against Kuldeep.
"This is the second time I've faced Kuldeep bhai. Rishabh bhai and Shubman bhai gave me insights into which deliveries from Kuldeep would be effective and which ones I could score off. Once I got set, batting became easier," he told reporters after the day.
This was Musheer's just seventh first-class game and he has already scored a double-century in a Ranji Trophy Quarter Final, a century in a Ranji Trophy final, and now the first hundred of a competition rife with international stars.
