Shreyanka Patil's Women's Asia Cup campaign ended after one game due to injury
Speaking of Shreyanka, the off-spinner played only one match for India in the recently concluded 2024 Women's Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. She was part of Team India's playing XI for the game against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dambulla. The young spinner produced impressive figures of 2-14 from 3.2 overs, dismissing Aliya Riaz and Sadia Iqbal.
The 22-year-old was, however, ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to an injury to her left hand. As per a press release from the Asian Cricket Council, she sustained a fracture to the fourth finger of her left hand.
The off-spinner was replaced by left-arm spinner Tanuja Kanwar, who made her international debut in the tournament. In four matches, Kanwar claimed one wicket at an economy rate of 4.75.
