South Delhi Superstarz opener Priyansh Arya smashed six sixes in an over during his side's 2024 Delhi Premier League T20 fixture against the North Delhi Strikers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, August 31. The 12th over of South Delhi's innings, which was bowled by slow left-arm orthodox bowler Manan Bhardwaj, went for six maximums.

Earlier, South Delhi Superstarz skipper Ayush Badoni won the toss and opted to bat first in match number 23 of the inaugural Delhi Premier League T20. Despite losing opener Sarthak Ray in the third over with just 13 runs on the board, the Superstarz did not look back. A 286-run second-wicket partnership between Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya ensured they posted a massive 308-5 in their 20 overs.

While Badoni amassed 165 runs off just 55 balls at a strike rate of 300 which included eight fours and nineteen sixes, Priyansh scored 120 runs off 50 deliveries comprising ten fours and as many sixes.

A fantastic 2024 DPLT20 campaign so far for the South Delhi Superstarz

With 10 points from seven matches, the South Delhi Superstarz are currently placed second in the points table. Although the East Delhi Riders are at the top of the ladder with 12 points from seven games, a Superstarz win over the Strikers would propel them to the pole position given their superior net run rate (+2.031).

Ayush Badoni's men have so far faced two defeats in the 2024 Delhi Premier League T20, having lost the encounters against East Delhi Riders and West Delhi Lions.

With the tournament nearing its business end, next up the South Delhi Superstarz will be facing the North Delhi Strikers (September 1) and East Delhi Riders (September 5) in their last two league matches. Meanwhile, the semifinals are scheduled to be held on September 6 and 7 with the final to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, September 8.
