[Watch] Steve Smith in disbelief as he gets dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for 2 in BGT 2024-25 2nd Test
Jasprit Bumrah once again turned out to be India's savior, chipping in with two quick wickets in the first session of Day 2 at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday, December 7. He got the better of Nathan McSweeney before dismissing the dangerous Steve Smith to put his side back in the game.
Bumrah picked up on the only Australian wicket that fell on Day 1 of the day-night Test. McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne stitched together a healthy partnership to set the platform for the hosts. However, a peach of a delivery that just deviated a little from its line was enough to undo the good work of McSweeney.
The ace speedster continued the momentum this time to dismiss Smith, who has looked a bit underconfident owing to low returns with the bat. The ball was angling down the leg, while Smith shuffled across and tried to flick it down the leg side. The former Aussie skipper only managed to get a faint edge and Rishabh Pant did an excellent job behind the stump to complete the catch by diving on his left.
