[Watch] "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out"- Mohammed Shami bowls in nets on comeback trail

Team India pacer Mohammed Shami is working hard in the nets to make his much-awaited comeback. The star pacer has been on the sidelines for more than 11 months. He was last seen on the field during the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia on November 19. An ankle injury forced him to miss all the action since then, including IPL 2024 and ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which India won in June.

He underwent surgery earlier this year and has been doing his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru over the recent past. Shami shared a video on his official Instagram handle on Wednesday (October 23) to give fans a positive update of him bowling in the nets without any discomfort. Mohammed Shami captioned the post:

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out. #Shami #MdShami #mdshami11 #fitness

"I have been bowling decently for two weeks"- Mohammed Shami gives an update about his recovery

During a recent interaction with Sports Tak, Mohammed Shami gave an update about his recovery. He said that things are going well after a minor setback, which forced him to take a break for a week. He said:

"It is extremely fine at the moment. I had just stopped for one week because of that as I am also sometimes worried as it's the operation leg and there shouldn't be any reaction. Due to dryness, more load comes on my front foot. So I don't want problems in that and because of that, we had stepped back."

Mohammed Shami continued:

"The small thing became so big, the guy had it less and it was more in the market. Things shouldn't be blown out of proportion. Yes, confirmation is required. As far as Rohit is concerned, he said it after asking us if anything was there because as a captain, he should know the reality. However, it was just for a week. I have been bowling decently for two weeks and there have been no issues thus far."

Which pacer should be picked as a replacement in case Shami does not get fit in time for the BGT series against Australia? Let us know your opinions in the comments section.
