[Watch] Suresh Raina smashes quick-fire 44 off 27 balls in Legends League Cricket 2024

Toyam Hyderabad captain Suresh Raina has been in great form, displaying some impressive shots during match number three of Legends League Cricket 2024 against Gujarat Greats on Sunday, September 22. The game is being played at Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur.

Coming in at No. 5, the 37-year-old began cautiously but quickly found his rhythm, hitting John Mooney for two fours and a six in the 10th over. Raina continued to play aggressively until he was dismissed for 44 runs off 27 balls by Manan Sharma. His innings included five boundaries and two sixes.

After opting to bat first, Toyam Hyderabad openers Chadwick Walton (17) and George Worker (13) couldn’t contribute much. Shaun Marsh was dismissed for one run off three balls by Manan Sharma. Raina scored 44 runs off 27 balls, while Gurkeerat Singh added 26 runs off 19 balls, including three fours.

Towards the end, Peter Trego remained unbeaten on 36 runs off 25 balls, hitting two boundaries and two sixes, as Hyderabad finished at 172/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Liam Plunkett, Manan Sharma and Seekkuge Prasanna each took two wickets for Gujarat Greats.

At the time of writing, Gujarat Greats are yet to start their innings.


Suresh Raina’s Toyam Hyderabad lost their first match of the tournament

Toyam Hyderabad took on India Capitals in their first match of Legends League Cricket 2024 on Saturday, September 21. Batting first, the Capitals scored 185 runs, highlighted by a 60-run innings from Ben Dunk and an unbeaten 31 off 12 balls from Colin de Grandhomme.

In response, George Worker contributed a solid 52 runs off 43 balls for Hyderabad. Gurkeerat Singh added 28 runs off 20 balls, while Suresh Raina was dismissed for just four runs. Needing 16 runs from the final over, Peter Trego gave it his all, but the team fell short by just one run, finishing at 184/7 in their 20 overs.

Trego ended not out on 38 runs off 18 balls, including one four and three sixes. Dhawal Kulkarni and Rahul Sharma claimed two wickets each for India Capitals.
