[Watch] Suryakumar Yadav dismissed cheaply by Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the IND vs BAN 2024 2nd T20I

Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed after scoring just eight runs in the ongoing T20I against Bangladesh today, October 9. The contest is being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Suryakumar Yadav, fresh off his 29-run knock in the last game, walked out to the middle following the Sanju Samson's dismissal. He started off cautiously and was a bit slow to get off the blocks, with the skipper managing only four runs off the first eight balls.

Surya scored a boundary off the ninth delivery he faced before perishing on the tenth, having scored just eight runs. He played an indecisive stroke, which lobbed up towards Najmul Hossain Shanto at mid-off off Mustafizur Rahman's bowling.

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for eight runs off 10 balls, leaving the hosts on 41/3 after 5.3 overs. His dismissal brought Rinku Singh to the middle.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second T20I. They lost three wickets in the powerplay but gained momentum in the middle overs. Nitish Kumar Reddy (74 off 34) and Rinku Singh (53 off 29) stitched a partnership worth 108 runs for the fourth wicket. Both batters exhibited good strength and hit boundaries at will during their respective half-centuries.

Team India lost wickets at one end, but the batters continued to play the big shots. Towards the end of the innings, the hosts launched some big hits in the stand but also lost wickets at regular intervals, scoring 221/9 after 20 overs.

Team India have taken a 1-0 series lead against Bangladesh after beating them in the first T20I by seven wickets.
