[WATCH] Suryakumar Yadav falls after hitting first-ball six in IND vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024 game

Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav could not make use of his terrific start as he was dismissed cheaply in a Super 8 clash of the T20 World Cup against Bangladesh on Saturday (June 22). The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua is hosting this exciting contest.

'SKY' arrived to the crease at 71/2 in the ninth over after Tanzim Hasan Sakib breached the defense of Virat Kohli. He smashed a six towards the fine leg boundary off a perfectly executed bouncer by the pacer. Certainly, the belter of a surface assisted the right-handed batter as the ball came to the bat nicely.

However, SKY couldn't judge the bounce of Sakib's good length delivery in the following ball, as he unknowingly gloved it and was caught by Litton Das. Although the bowler did not seem confident about the dismissal, SKY walked instantly after scoring six off two balls.

Here's the video of the dismissal:

Rishabh Pant leads India's comeback against Bangladesh in T20 World Cup 2024

After Suryakumar Yadav departed for a low score, the Indian outfit needed a push from the other batters to bring back the team's momentum. Pant certainly displayed his positive intent to drive the team's score.

In particular, Pant picked apart Mustafizur Rahman in the 11th over. He utilized fuller balls to slam two fours and dispatch one for a six. In the following over against Rishad Hossain, the southpaw came down the track to hit a maximum and sweep one for a four.

However, the spinner had the last laugh, as Pant's reverse sweep saw him getting holed to Tanzim Hasan Sakib at short third-man. He slammed 36 off 24 balls to help the team get a necessary push for a formidable total.

At the time of writing, Shivam Dube (28*) and Hardik Pandya (20*) have made their intentions clear and have helped India reach 155/4 in the 17th over. It will be interesting to see if they can reach a daunting total of 200 and stake a strong claim for a semi-final spot in the T20 World Cup.
