Suryakumar Yadav took a brilliant catch under pressure to dismiss David Miller in the 2024 T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa. The clash took place at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.
Yadav used his presence of mind to take a sharp catch at long-off. He juggled the catch back into play as the momentum pushed him inside the boundary ropes. The 33-year-old came back to complete the catch, leaving everyone stunned. The sharp catch came during the first ball of the last over with the Proteas needing 16 runs off the final six balls.

At that moment, David Miller was the only SA player in the way of India’s victory. The left-hander departed for 21 runs off 17 balls, failing to take his team over the line.
India beat South Africa in final to lift 2024 T20 World Cup, give Rahul Dravid fitting farewell
A clinical all-around performance helped India beat South Africa by seven runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup final. It was a perfect farewell to head coach Rahul Dravid.
The Men in Blue continued their unbeaten journey to win the ICC title, winning their only second T20 World Cup trophy after 2007. With the win, Rohit Sharma and Co. also ended India’s drought in ICC events since 2013.
Batting first, India put up 176/7 in 20 overs. The Men in Blue lost three wickets early but Virat Kohli stood tall, scoring 76 runs off 59 balls, including two sixes and six boundaries. Axar Patel and Shivam Dube also chipped in with 47 (31) and 27 (16), respectively.
Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje bagged two wickets each for SA, while Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen bagged one each.
In response, SA managed 169/8 on 20 overs, falling seven runs short of the target. Heinrich Klaasen top scored with 52 off 27, hitting five sixes and two boundaries. Quinton de Kock also scored 39 off 31 with the help of one six and four boundaries.
Hardik Pandya starred with the ball for India, finishing with figures of 3/20, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah bagged two wickets apiece.
The Men in Blue will next be seen in a five-match T20I series at Harare in Zimbabwe, which starts on June 6. Shubman Gill will lead the second-string 15-member squad.
