[Watch] Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha shares heartwarming photo amid international break
India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s wife Devisha Shetty shared a heartwarming photo amid the ongoing international break on Tuesday, August 13. The stylish batter was seen romanticizing with his wife in a beautiful backdrop - a sunflower garden amid clear blue skies in an Instagram post.
Notably, Suryakumar is holidaying with his family overseas after leading the Men in Blue to a 3-0 series win in Sri Lanka in his first assignment as India’s full-time T20I skipper.
Suryakumar Yadav recently celebrated his eighth wedding anniversary with Devisha Shetty. The 33-year-old shared a witty post, drawing parallels to his important catch in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
He wrote on Instagram:
"Yesterday marked 8 days since THAT catch but my most important catch was actually 8 years ago! 8 years ago, (infinite) years to go.”
“Never imagined this day would come” – Devisha Shetty’s message for Suryakumar Yadav on appointment as India's T20I captain
Devisha Shetty recently shared a heartfelt post for Suryakumar Yadav following the latter’s elevation to the role as India’s T20I captain. The Mumbai-born cricketer was made the skipper in place of Rohit Sharma who retired from T20Is after guiding the Men in Blue to the 2024 T20 World Cup title in the West Indies and the USA.
She recently wrote in her Instagram story:
“When you started playing for India, we never imagined this day would come! But god is great and everyone gets the reward of their hard work and diligence in due time So proud of you and how far you've come but this is just the beginning of your own legacy, long way to go.”
Earlier this month, Suryakumar expressed that he wishes to be a three-format player instead of being labeled as a T20 player. He recently told The Times of India:
"I want to play for India in all the three formats. Playing in Buchi Babu will give me good practice for the red ball tournaments this season.”
Suryakumar has played a solitary Test for India, scoring eight runs on his debut against Australia in Nagpur. The Mumbai batter, however, has 5628 runs in 82 first-class matches at an average of 43.62 with the help of 14 tons and 29 half-centuries.
In ODIs, Yadav has 773 runs in 37 games at an average of 25.76, including four half-centuries. He has been left out of the 50-over side following the 2023 ODI World Cup.
