On Friday, he made his presence felt at Anant Ambani's sangeet ceremony at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. As the two posed for pictures, Suryakumar was seen adjusting his sherwani. Suryakumar Yadav opened up on David Miller's catch during his interaction with PM Modi
Ahead of heading to Mumbai for a grand celebration ceremony, the Indian team visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and shared their thoughts over the T20 World Cup victory.
During the interaction, Suryakumar spoke about his viral catch to dismiss South Africa's dangerous batter Miller in the final, saying:
"At that moment I did not think that I would catch it, I was thinking I'd push the ball in and save the boundary because the wind was also against me. Once I had the ball in my hand I thought I'd throw it the other side but Rohit bhai was too far at that time so I threw it in the air and caught it."
"We have practiced a lot for such situations as I think that I already do batting but where else can I contribute to the team,” the 33-year-old went to add.
Miller had slammed the first ball of the last over from Hardik Pandya towards long-off. The ball seemed to be heading for a six, but Suryakumar displayed exceptional presence on mind under pressure and completed a superb catch.
