The Women in Blue will kick off their campaign against the White Ferns and then face arch-rivals Pakistan in their next encounter on Sunday, October 6. At the same venue, which is the Dubai International Stadium, India will play their third match against Sri Lanka on October 9.

India will face a tough challenge playing against the Chamari Athapaththu-led side, who recently defeated them in the 2024 edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. India failed to defend their title as the Lankans bagged their maiden Asia Cup crown.

The Indian team will then head to Sharjah for their final encounter of the group stage, where they will face fierce rivals Australia on October 13. The two teams have had some close encounters in ICC tournaments over the years, with the Aussies edging past India on most occasions.

Australian captain Alyssa Healy believes that the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup will be challenging for the six-time champions because of the unknown conditions. Notably, this will be the first time that Australia play at the venues in the UAE.

In the previous edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, Australia knocked India out of the tournament after beating them in the semi-final. They then went on to beat hosts South Africa in the summit clash to lift their sixth T20 World Cup title.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India would hope to turn the tables around this time when they square off against Australia. India played two warm-up matches against West Indies and South Africa, respectively, and clinched victories in both.
