[Watch] Team India sharpen their fielding skills ahead of IND vs BAN 1st T20I
Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India underwent a net session dedicated to improving their fielding skills ahead of the first T20I against Bangladesh at New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Friday, October 4. The Men in Blue first took their shots at pop-up goal and target before going after sky-high catches.
Sharing the video on X, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s official handle wrote:
“Gearing up in Gwalior with radiant rhythm and full flow. Team India hone their fielding skills ahead of the INDvsBAN T20I series opener.”
In the video, fielding coach T Dilip said:
“Get your feet where you are throwing. As simple as that. I’m not looking at intensity but rhythm and flow is something we have to achieve today. And once we break into that, we’ll move and take 15 catches.”

“Keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high” – What Gautam Gambhir told Team India T20I bound players ahead of IND vs BAN T20I series
Last month, head coach Gautam Gambhir asked the Team India players to stay fully fit for the T20I series against Bangladesh. He told BCCI (via Hindustan Times):
"Some of the guys will not be a part of the 50-overs format will have a longer break, so make sure when you come back for the Bangladesh series...you can take a break. You absolutely deserve it, but more importantly, keep your skills and especially the fitness levels high."
"You don't want to come for that series thinking that 'okay, I can just turn up, probably deliver for the team'. So, make sure that from the fitness point of view, the fitness levels are right up there," he added.
The first of the three-match T20I series will be played on Sunday, October 6. The action will then shift to Delhi and Hyderabad for the remaining two matches.
Suryakumar Yadav and company will be keen to continue their impressive show after registering a 3-0 victory in Sri Lanka in July. This was Yadav’s first series as full-time captain after taking over the reins from Rohit Sharma, who led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup earlier this year.
