The Indian squad arrived in Delhi from Barbados only on Thursday morning and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence before flying to Mumbai.

Team India enjoyed a dominant run at the 2024 T20 World Cup
All the festival-like celebrations on Thursday were made possible by Team India's stellar showing in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA.
Led by the ever-reliable Rohit Sharma, the Men in Blue became the first-ever team to be crowned T20 World Cup champions without losing a single game. They swept through the group stages with wins over Ireland, arch-rivals Pakistan, and co-hosts USA.
Yet, their best run came in the Super Eights and the semi-final when they upstaged Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, and England. The grand finale against South Africa tested Team India to the hilt but they came out on top by seven runs to clinch their second T20 World Cup title.
With the win, Rohit Sharma joined Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni as the only Indian captains to win a World Cup title.
Team India also ended their 11-year ICC title and the 13-year World Cup droughts with the 2024 T20 World Cup win.
