[Watch] "Teen lakh ki party" - Indian players' special wishes for Deepti Sharma for her 200th international match

Wishes poured in for Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who is playing her 200th international match against South Africa at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (June 16).

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, coach Amol Mazumdar and teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil and Richa Ghosh wished her luck. Like always, Jemimah's message was the most unique.

"Hi Deepu, congratulations on your 200th international game. I know this is stuff of dreams and everyone looks forward to doing it and you've done it at such a young age. And one more thing -- 'teen lakh ki party!' (Party of three lakh rupees)" she said.

The three lakh party is an inside joke in the women's team running since earlier this year when pacer Titas Sadhu won that amount with three back-to-back Player of the Match performances. Jemimah also said that her first memory of Deepti was seeing her fiery direct hits during the 2017 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Harmanpreet said:

"I am wishing her all the luck. I hope that how she keeps contributing to the team in the coming years and makes the team win."

Mandhana added:

"Congratulations on your 200th international match. Playing 200 international matches for the country is a really big achievement. You've been a really good all-rounder over eight to 10 years. Hopefully, you can keep winning matches for India. Congratulations on the 200 and may more to come!"

Deepti became only the fifth Indian cricketer to the milestone after Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet, and Mandhana.

"I'll do even better than the team's expectations" - Deepti Sharma

Deepti was shown the video messages from the team members. She also spoke about the occasion, and promised everyone to perform better than their expectations.

"This is where I made my ODI debut. I'll always remember that and it's a good feeling. Milestones always make you feel good. [But] the only thing in my mind is how many matches can I win for the team. Milestones come and go, but how many matches you win for the team matters more," she said.
"It makes you feel very good when your teammates motivate you. Thanks to all my teammates for their wishes. I am sure I'll do good in tomorrow's (Sunday's) match and do even better than the team's expectations," she added.
