[Watch] "That is none of my business. You guys have to come and cover us" - Harmanpreet Kaur issues savage response ahead of Women's Asia Cup

Indian women's skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has faced many challenging deliveries and obstacles in her career. However, she was presented with a problem like no other during the pre-tournament press conference ahead of the 2024 Women's Asia Cup. Harmanpreet was left puzzled following a confusing question by a reporter.

Harmanpreet was in attendance along with the other captains partaking in the tournament. While they were fielding questions from the press, one member fielded a question to the Indian skipper that left everyone in the room puzzled.

"There have been concerns about the importance of women's cricket especially after the Bangladesh tour. There are less journalists appearing in press conferences, so what is your opinion on this?" the journalist asked (via Out of Context Cricket).

Harmanpreet Kaur, with a puzzled look, asked for the question to be repeated. The journalist repeated the question which proved to do the trick, but he certainly did not get a kind response from the Indian skipper.

"Well, that is none of my business. You guys have to come and cover us," Harmanpreet replied with a laugh.

Here is a video of the incident:

The tour of Bangladesh, which was mentioned by the journalist, saw the Women in Blue complete a 5-0 whitewash over the hosts in May. Women's cricket has certainly seen a rise in interest, leading to better coverage in recent times. The first two editions of the Women's Premier League (WPL) have been a huge success, leading to people flocking over to the stadiums for India's bilateral affairs.

"Each and every game is important for us and we will try to give our best" - Harmanpreet Kaur

Team India head into the 2024 Women's Asia Cup as firm favorites and defending champions. They will kickstart their tournament with a clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Friday, 19 July, in Dambulla.

“This tournament is very important for all of us because we give equal respect to this tournament and want to improve at the Asian as well as at the world level. So our focus will remain the same as we prepare for the T20 World Cup or any other World Cup. Each and every game is important for us and we will try to give our best,” Harmanpreet said in a press conference.

The Women in Blue are in fine form having recently ousted South Africa women's team at home across all formats.
