[Watch] “The greatest comebacks emerge from our setbacks” - Yuvraj Singh wishes Virat Kohli on 36th birthday with old footage

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to social media on Tuesday, November 5, to wish Virat Kohli on his 36th birthday. The Delhi-born cricketer's most recent outing was in the recently concluded three-match Test series against New Zealand, where the visitors made history by becoming the first team to whitewash India in a three-match series on home soil.

Kohli had a disappointing series, scoring just 93 runs across six innings. Before that, he managed only 99 runs in two matches against Bangladesh, which has led to ongoing criticism of his form.

On Tuesday, as Kohli celebrated his 36th birthday, Yuvraj Singh shared a heartfelt message, expressing confidence that Kohli would make a strong comeback, as he has done while posting some nostalgic throwback footage.

"Wishing you a very Happy Birthday #KingKohli! The greatest comebacks emerge from our setbacks and the world eagerly looks forward to your solid comeback (fire emoji) you’ve done it in the past and I’m sure you will do it yet again (other emojis) God bless! lots of love,” he wrote.

Yuvraj retired from international cricket in 2019 and has since been participating in various Legends League tournaments. The 42-year-old's most recent appearance came in July 2024, when the India Champions triumphed over the Pakistan Champions to win the World Championship of Legends.

Virat Kohli became the fourth Indian cricketer to surpass 9,000 runs in Test cricket during the series against New Zealand

Despite a challenging series against New Zealand, Virat Kohli became only the fourth Indian to exceed 9,000 Test runs. The 36-year-old now has 9,040 runs from 118 Tests, including 31 fifties and 29 centuries.

Kohli also boasts an exceptional record in One-Day Internationals, having scored 13,906 runs in 295 matches, with 72 fifties and 50 centuries - the most by any player in the format.

The ace batter from T20I cricket after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup, having accumulated 4,188 runs in 125 matches, including 38 fifties and one century.
