[Watch]"This is a little more special" - Rohit Sharma on 2024 T20 World Cup win compared to 2007 amidst victory parade
Indian captain Rohit Sharma was part of both the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup-winning teams. However, having led the current Indian team to the title in Barbados, Rohit feels the latest triumph is a bit more special to him.
Back in 2007, then-captain MS Dhoni and his men had also done a victory parade in Mumbai after the T20 World Cup win, with Rohit and company following suit on Thursday, July 4. The victory parade saw thousands of fans clocking the Marine Drive and the Wankhede Stadium, waiting for their heroes to celebrate with the trophy.
Here's what Rohit Sharma said in the video uploaded by the BCCI:
"2007 was a different feeling. We started in the afternoon and this is in the evening. This is a little more special because I was leading the team so it is a very proud moment for me."

In the video, the likes of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are seen mesmerized by the kind of reception they received from the Mumbai crowd.
Rohit Sharma on what the T20 World Cup win means to fans
In the same video, Rohit Sharma is seen highlighting the passion among the fans who had gathered on the Marine Drive to catch just a glimpse of the players and the T20 World Cup trophy. He believes it embodied just how much it meant for those fans.
"You can make out the excitement. It shows how much it means, not just to us but to the entire nation. It means a lot. So I am happy we could achieve something like this for them as well," he said.
India's win in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa ended an 11-year-long wait for an ICC Trophy for the Men in Blue.
