Birmingham Phoenix pacer Tim Southee dismissed Northern Superchargers batter Ben Stokes with a beauty in the 19th match of The Hundred Men’s Competition 2024 on Tuesday, August 6. The game was played in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The dismissal came on the 21st ball of the Northern Superchargers innings. New Zealand pacer Tim Southee bowled a brilliant delivery on the length, which shaped back sharply. The left-handed batter was beaten on the inside edge as the ball went on to hit the top of the off-stump.
Here’s the video of the dismissal:
This was Ben Stokes' first match in The Hundred in three years. The England Test captain had a very poor outing, as he was dismissed on a golden duck. Stokes’ wickets left his side at 19/3 after 21 balls.
Birmingham Phoenix bowler put Northern Superchargers on the back foot

Nicholas Pooran came to bat at number three; he smashed one four and one six before his innings was cut short by Adam Milne. Southee was then again in action as he removed Ben Stokes to put the Northern Superchargers on the backfoot.
Captain Harry Brook also had a disappointing outing, as Chris Wood dismissed him for 15. At the time of writing, the Northern Superchargers were 44/4 after 60 balls, with Oliver Robinson and Adam Hose at the crease.
