[Watch] Tom Banton stuns with reverse sweep on one leg off Shakib Al Hasan despite ankle injury in County Championship 

Tom Banton put up a spirited show for Somerset in their County Championship Division One game against Surrey in Taunton. The right-handed batter not only played with a twisted ankle but also scored a valuable 46 runs off 65 balls, a fighting knock laced with six boundaries in the second innings. During his knock, Banton also impressed everyone with his reverse sweep off Shakib Al Hasan.

The shot came in the 62nd over of Somerset's second innings. Shakib delivered a length ball on the middle stump and Banton went ahead with his pre-mediated shot that went for a boundary. He almost played a perfect reverse sweep despite injury.

Sharing the video on X, Somerset's official handle wrote:

"Tom Banton is reverse sweeping on one leg?!?"

Shakib eventually cleaned up Banton in the 64th over to complete his fifer and ninth wicket of the match.

Notably, Tom Banton had scored 132 runs off 172 deliveries with the help of one six and 16 boundaries in the first innings. No other batters could even score a fifty in the same innings.

Tom Banton and Craig Overton shared a 71-run partnership for the last wicket to help Somerset in the second innings and set a 221-run target for Surrey.

At the time of writing, Surrey were 18 without loss while chasing the target, with skipper Rory Burns and Dom Sibley at the crease.

Batting first, Somerset put up 317 in their first innings. Tom Abell and Archie Vaughan chipped in with scores of 49 and 44, respectively. Shakib Al Hasan starred with the ball, picking up four wickets, while Daniel Worrall bagged three wickets.

In response, Surrey managed 321 in their first innings. Tom Curran, Ryan Patel and Ben Geddes chipped in with scores of 86, 70 and 50, respectively. Archie Vaughan emerged as the leading wicket-taker, scalping six wickets, while Jack Leach took the remaining four.

In the second innings, Somerset were bundled out for 224. Shakib Al Hasan bagged a fifer, while Jordan Clark picked up two wickets.
