[Watch] TV umpire overturns on-field call again as Akash Deep adjudged out in BGT 2024-25 4th Test

After a big decision regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal, TV umpire Sharfuddoula again overturned the on-field decision against Akash Deep on Day 5 (Monday, December 30) of the fifth Test in Melbourne. The right-handed batter was adjudged out after facing 17 deliveries as the tourists kept losing wickets in the third and final session.

The dismissal came in the 77th over of India’s second innings. Scott Boland bowled a length ball angling into leg stump. The right-hander tried to flick but it went straight to Travis Head at short leg. The on-field umpire adjudged it not out prompting Australia captain Pat Cummins to review the decision.

The third umpire backed Snicko while overturning the decision. Interestingly, the TV umpire didn’t trust Snicko during the previous call against Jaiswal where the decision was solely on visual evidence.
