[Watch] Unmukt Chand’s fifty leads Toronto Nationals to their second win in GT20 Canada 2024

Toronto Nationals player Unmukt Chand played a brilliant innings to take his team home in the fifth game of Global T20 Canada 2024 against the Brampton Wolves. The match took place on Saturday, July 27, at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario.

The Brampton Wolves won the toss and elected to bat first, but things didn’t go in their favor as they got bowled out on 110. In response, the Toronto Nationals lost their captain Colin Munro (11) in the second over.

Unmukt Chand and Rassie van der Dussen stitched together a 79-run partnership for the second wicket that paved the way for an easy win for Toronto. Dussen departed on 25 off 23 balls, but Chand finished the game for his side.

The right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 53 off 40 balls, hitting eight fours and one maximum as Toronto won their second game in a row.

The Toronto Nationals have started the tournament on a positive note, winning both of their games. Meanwhile, this was the first defeat of the season for the Brampton Wolves. David Warner’s side won their opening game against the Surrey Jaguars.


Junaid Siddique shines with the ball for Toronto Nationals

The Brampton Wolves lost four wickets in four overs as they got off to a dismal start after choosing to bat first. After hitting the opening ball of the game for four runs, David Warner was removed by his countryman, Jason Behrendorff, on the following ball.

Beau Webster (25) and Nick Hobson (21) tried hard, but the Toronto Nationals bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals. David Warner’s side got bundled out on 110 in 19.1 overs. Junaid Siddique was the pick of the bowlers for Toronto, taking three wickets.

In response, it turned out to be an easy chase for Toronto, as they won the game by eight wickets with 40 balls remaining.
