[Watch] Virat Kohli arrives in Chennai ahead of IND vs BAN 2024 1st Test

Team India's ace batter Virat Kohli landed in Chennai on Friday, September 13, ahead of the Men in Blue's Test series opener against Bangladesh. The match is set to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium from September 19 onwards.

Kohli was part of India's three-match away-from-home ODI series against Sri Lanka last month. Following the culmination of the 50-over matches, the 35-year-old flew to London to spend time with his family.

The former India captain was seen walking out of the Chennai airport amid heavy security as he arrived in the city prior to the home Test series. The video of Kohli coming out of the airport was shared by one of his fan clubs on the microblogging platform X.

Virat Kohli performed underwhelmingly with the bat in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, finishing with 58 runs across three innings at an average of 19.33. Sri Lanka won the series 2-0.

As far as red-ball cricket is concerned, he made himself unavailable for the five-match home Test series against England earlier this year, citing personal reasons.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Basit said:

"In the Bangladesh and New Zealand series, you will see big centuries from Virat. Not just 110 or 115, you may see a 200-run knock from him." (8:30)
