[Watch] Virat Kohli becomes second Indian to complete 1300 fours in ODIs during IND vs SL series decider
Virat Kohli became only the second Indian after legendary Sachin Tendulkar to complete 1300 fours in ODIs during the ODI series decider against Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7. Kohli achieved the milestone in his 295th ODI (283 innings).
With that, he also joined Tendulkar (2016 fours), and Sri Lanka legends Sanath Jayasuriya (1500), and Kumar Sangakkara (1385) on the elite list of players with the most boundaries in the 50-over format.
Kohli achieved the landmark when he scored a boundary off Asitha Fernando in the seventh over of India’s run-chase. Fernando bowled short of a length ball and Kohli played a late cut to guide it for a boundary toward the third-man area.
