[Watch] Virat Kohli congratulates Travis Head for his stunning hundred on Day 2 of BGT 2024-25 3rd Test
Team India's batting star Virat Kohli couldn't help but congratulate Travis Head for his brilliant century on Day 2 of the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. Kohli was also seen having a friendly chat with Steve Smith as the two teams were walking off for tea.
The South Australian notched his second consecutive hundred against India; he reached the milestone in the 69th over of the innings by clipping one off Jasprit Bumrah to the leg side. It was also the ninth Test hundred of his career and proceeded a game-changing 140 that helped Australia to a series-levelling victory in Adelaide.
Meanwhile, Smith also managed to rediscover his mojo after managing only 19 runs across two Tests and three innings, including a golden duck in the opening dig in Perth. While Head walked off at tea unbeaten on 103, Smith was not out on 65 and their partnership was unbroken on 159.

The left-handed batter has now notched up over 300 runs in the series and is the highest run-getter by miles. Although the 30-year-old perished for 11 in the first innings in Perth, he followed it up with scores of 89 and 140.
Australia had lost their openers within the first hour on Day 2 as Jasprit Bumrah nipped out Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney. Marnus Labuschagne fell to Nitish Kumar Reddy for 12 after surviving for 55 deliveries as he edged one to Virat Kohli at slip. Only 13.2 overs were possible on Day 1 due to persistent rain.
India won the opening Test at the Optus Stadium in Perth by 295 runs to consign Australia to their first defeat at the venue but the hosts bounced back to win in Adelaide by 10 wickets.
