[Watch] Virat Kohli faces Prasidh Krishna & Harshit Rana ahead of BGT 2024-25 4th Test
Former India captain Virat Kohli was seen refining his batting skills in the nets on Tuesday, December 24, as he faced Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna. The Delhi-born cricketer recently participated in the third match of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at The Gabba in Brisbane.
The rain-impacted match saw Australia’s Steven Smith (101) and Travis Head (152) score centuries, helping the hosts set a total of 445 in their first innings. India could only manage 260 in response, with Kohli enduring a disappointing performance, scoring just three runs.
On the final day, Australia declared their second innings at 89-7, setting India a target of 275 runs. However, rain interrupted play again when India were at 8-0, and the match ended in a draw with no further play possible.
Ahead of the fourth Test, the seasoned batter was seen in the nets, gearing up for the pivotal Boxing Day Test, set to begin on Thursday, December 26, in Melbourne.

The visitors will be hoping for Kohli to return to form, as India aim to win the series' final two Tests and secure a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Virat Kohli hasn't had the best of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy so far
Virat Kohli is always under immense expectation and he lived up to them in the first Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. While he was dismissed for just five runs in the first innings, he made a strong comeback in the second, scoring an unbeaten 100 — his 30th in Test cricket — as India secured a dominant 295-run victory.
However, his form has dipped in the next two matches, with Kohli managing only 21 runs across three innings. Given his proven ability to bounce back, fans will be hopeful for a strong performance in the fourth Test.
Overall, the 36-year-old has played 16 Tests in Australia, accumulating 1,478 runs, including four fifties and seven centuries.
