[Watch] Virat Kohli gets caught at slip for 1 as India loses half-their side on Day 3 of IND vs NZ 3rd Test 2024

Former India captain Virat Kohli once again struggled with the bat, getting dismissed for just one run when the team needed him the most on Day 3 (Sunday, November 3) of the ongoing third Test against New Zealand. The match is being played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kohli’s dismissal occurred on the third ball of the sixth over. Ajaz Patel bowled a beautifully flighted delivery that drew Kohli forward. Attempting to block it, the right-handed batter was beaten as the ball spun away, nicking the outside edge.

Daryl Mitchell made a solid catch at slip, sending Virat Kohli back to the pavilion for just one run off seven balls. The Delhi-born cricketer's wicket left India struggling at 18 for three after 5.3 overs.

Here’s a video of the dismissal:

Chasing a target of 147, the hosts got off to a disastrous start. Captain Rohit Sharma's struggles continued as he was dismissed for 11 runs. Shubman Gill became Ajaz Patel's first victim, falling for just one run. Patel then took out Virat Kohli, increasing the pressure on India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the next to go, dismissed for five runs. Sarfaraz Khan also struggled, contributing only one run as the hosts lost half their wickets for just 29 runs.

At the time of writing, India were reeling at 52 for five after 11 overs, needing 95 runs to win, with Rishabh Pant (21) and Ravindra Jadeja (4) at the crease.
