[Watch] Virat Kohli meets West Indian legend Wesley Hall ahead of India's 2024 T20 World Cup Super 8 clash against Afghanistan

Star Indian batter Virat Kohli met with West Indian legend Wesley Hall ahead of their Men in Blues' Super Eight clash of the 2024 T20 World Cup against Afghanistan on Thursday, June 20. The duo exchanged pleasantries, with Hall presenting his book 'Answering the Call' to Kohli before they posed for the cameras.

Hall enjoyed an illustrious career for the West Indies from 1958 to 1969, playing 48 Tests. The now-86-year-old picked up 192 wickets at an average of 26.38 with nine five-wicket hauls.

The right-arm speedster was a first-class legend, picking up 546 wickets in 170 outings.

Here is the video of the interaction between Hall and Kohli followed by the duo posing for a photo.

Hall also told ANI he gave the book to Team India head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma along with Kohli.

"I gave three books today. I gave a book to the captain and another one to the coach and Virat Kohli. All three of them are great players. It's good to see people getting rewarded. Sometimes, you are a good player, and you haven't made it. I think they have done very well for India," said Hall.

Answering the Call is centered around Hall's cricketing journey and career and how he became one of the most legendary pacers in history. It was published in November 2022, following which he released a second part earlier this year.

Virat Kohli looks to regain form during Super Eights of the 2024 T20 World Cup

Virat Kohli has been in surprisingly poor form during the 2024 T20 World Cup, scoring only five runs at an average of 1.66 in three games.

The 35-year-old entered the tournament as the all-time leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. However, the bowler-friendly wickets in the US have made things challenging for Kohli to get going.

With the action shifting to the West Indies for the Super Eights and beyond, Team India will hope the champion batter gets back to his best.

Following the Afghanistan clash, the Men in Blue will play Bangladesh and Australia to complete their Super Eight fixtures. Should Rohit Sharma's Men finish in the top two of the four-team Group, they will qualify for the semi-finals.

India won their lone T20 World Cup title in the inaugural edition in South Africa in 2007.
