[Watch] Virat Kohli's brilliant game awareness as he races onto the stumps to run out Akila Dananjaya in IND vs SL 2nd ODI

Virat Kohli once again proved his fitness and sharp presence of mind, which led to a brilliant run-out in the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium on Sunday, August 4. The 35-year-old raced to the stumps as Akila Dananjaya was caught short of the ground off the final ball of the Sri Lanka innings.

Arshdeep Singh bowled a full-length ball and Dananjaya guided it towards the mid-off before taking a single. India captain Rohit Sharma collected the ball and threw it to the striker’s end but missed the stumps. The ball reached Kohli at cover, who saw the two batters trying to steal the second run. Kohli ran to the stumps to complete the run-out dismissal.

With the dismissal, India completed two run-outs off consecutive deliveries. Shreyas Iyer ran out Kamindu Mendis off the penultimate ball of Lanka’s innings.
