[Watch] Virat Kohli's fun interaction with Shubman Gill while batting during RCB vs GT IPL 2024 clash

Virat Kohli had a couple of fun interactions with Shubman Gill during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The match took place on Sunday (April 28) in Ahmedabad.

It was a great evening for Virat and his team RCB as they registered a thumping nine-wicket win against the hosts. Kohli was one of the star performers with the bat, scoring an unbeaten knock of 70* (44). Will Jacks was the protagonist for RCB in the steep chase of 201 as he smashed a 41-ball century to power his side to victory in just 16 overs.

Apart from having fun with the bat in the second innings, Kohli also indulged in a couple of playful interactions with GT skipper Shubman Gill. He shares a cordial bond with his compatriot. A fan gave a glimpse of it to everyone by sharing a video on X.

"We wanted to step up for ourselves, play for self respect"- Virat Kohli after RCB beat GT in IPL 2024

After the match, Virat Kohli opened up that RCB were playing for their self-respect following a disappointing start to the season. Reflecting on the win, Kohli said:

"We wanted to step up for ourselves, play for self respect, we can't carry in a big tournament like we did in the first half. It's just about going out there and playing the cricket we want to, if you see with the ball, we're attacking the game more now, the bowlers are being more courageous, fielders are putting the body on the line, that's the way we wanted to play our cricket."

On the outside noise about his strike rate and his supposed struggle against spinners, Kohli added:

"All the people who talk about strike rates, me not playing spin well, are the one's who love talking about this stuff but for me, it's all about winning the game for the team, and the reason why you do it for fifteen years, done it day in and day out.
"If you're not in that situation yourself to sit and speak about them in the box, I don't think it's the same thing, for me it's about doing things, people can talk about their assumptions."

Virat Kohli will be back in action on Saturday (May 4), when RCB faces GT again in the reverse fixture in Bengaluru.
